In my opinion, with a nearly perfect surface, corners, and edges this card should have graded higher. Beckett was a bit harsh with the centering grade. The back of the card is perfectly centered and the front is a bit off center. Great Value for a beautiful card! The 1986 Fleer Jordan that serves as the most recognizable cardboard of the past half century is widely and properly filed under the header of "rookie, " but the offered relic predates that hobby essential, tracking back to the first days of His Airness on an NBA court.
There are no professional statistics to be found on the back of this coveted rarity--only Tarheels tallies--and nothing but immortality ahead. And this isn't just the older sibling of the Jordan rookie family, but a far rarer one to boot. These cards were originally distributed in sealed team bags with the Jordan on top, in a production run believed to have numbered below 5,000.
Just over ten percent of that figure appears in a Beckett slab, with only 295 cards have ever soared higher.
