This is a beautiful, highly sought after RARE scarce, MINT PSA 9 example of the Michael Jordan 1989 Sports Illustrated For Kids (S I for Kids) card #16! There are only FIVE PSA 9's, and NO PSA 10's!!! This PSA 9 is VERY rare. ONLY 33 cards in total have been graded by PSA, the other 28 are graded lower than 9. This card was graded nearly 18 years ago before PSA offered half grades.

PSA 9 is one of the scarcest of all of the "early" (meaning from the 80's) Jordan cards! As a card collector please consider the rarity of SI for Kids cards that were or are worth grading. The cards come from pages of the magazine that were not mass produced at the high volume & quantity of the sports card companies. Beckett magazine wrote an article several years ago stating how few quality cards actually exist from SI for Kids.

As an example, not until the Tiger Woods rookie card was published in 1996 did any of the earlier cards receive attention or interest by collectors to a level of having them graded. Look at the population reports as an example of how few were graded. This Michael Jordan card was positioned on the bottom right corner of the sheet, with a high majority of them becoming dinged & dented on the corner before the magazine was ever opened.
